Elyah Kalmanowicz

Becoming a Bar Mitzvah has been an exciting milestone in my life, but along with it comes a lot of responsibility. With this responsibility I felt like it was my duty to twin my Bar Mitzvah with somebody who did not get a chance to have his own. My name is Zach Sandberg, the purpose of this page is to remember and educate others on the horror's of the Holocaust. It's very important to remember the atrocities of the Holocaust to make sure it doesn't happen again. This is why I've decided to research my family history during this time period so I can properly remember them and tell their stories for future generations.

My chosen twin: Elyah Kalmanowicz

Elyah Kalmanowicz

- Born in the mid 1920's

- Birth place: Dabrowa Bialostocka, Poland

- My Great, Great, Great Uncle

My chosen Twin is Elyah Kalmanowicz. He was born in a small town in North Eastern Poland in the mid 1920's called Dabrowa Bialostocka. His parents name's were Moshe and Sarah Kalmanowicz and he was the youngest of six. His siblings names were:

- Rynah

- Ciwa/Tsivia (Syliva)

- Zalman Monish (Sam) (My Great Great Grandfather)

- Yenta (Jennie)

- Chaika/Chaja (Ida)

- Elyah

There are some different scenarios of how he possibly died, and we are still in the procces of confirming the truth since all records of Dabrowa were destroyed when Germany took over the town.

He sadly passed away during the Holocaust most likely before he could have a Bar Mitzvah.
